SPECIALTIES

CBT THERAPY

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) aims to help client make the link between thoughts, behaviours and mood. Learning to be aware of these links aims to help clients become aware of new ways of relating to thoughts, which in turn helps manage emotions.

ACCEPTANCE & COMMITMENT THERAPY

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindful based therapy helping clients to gain perspective of their difficulties. This entails learning tools for managing emotions, while learning to live alongside difficult feelings rather than getting swept away by them.

EMDR THERAPY

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, is a powerful therapeutic technique used to treat trauma, depression and anxiety. The techniques used in EMDR allow the brain to undergo natural processing and healing.

DEPRESSION TREATMENT

Depression is characterised by loss of interest or pleasure. This may also entail a sense of hopelessness or thoughts that life might not be worth living. Using techniques such as cognitive therapy and behaviour activation, we work together to resolve issues which may be underlying these feelings.

ADJUSTMENT, GRIEF & LOSS

Adjustment, grief and loss are very complex processes we face when confronted with traumatic events, bereavement or even transitioning to a new life stage. This could be following the death of a loved one, recovery from a life changing injury, or during a fertility journey. Using a tailored approach, clients are helped to process and make sense of what is left behind, as well as helping them build a new life for the future.

SCHEMA THERAPY

Schema Therapy is an integrative form of treatment which combines elements of cognitive, behavioural, and psychodynamic therapies. The aim is to help clients understand how early experiences inform the way we relate with the world, in order to gain control over our lives and improve relationships.

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

DBT is a skills based therapy which supports clients in learning ways to manage emotions and improve communication. The skills include mindful awareness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

TRAUMA TREATMENT

Traumas can be a one off life changing experience or repeated events over an extended period of time. A person's experience of trauma will be unique to them. Evidence-based therapies used to treat trauma include Trauma-Informed CBT and EMDR.

ANXIETY TREATMENT

Anxiety disorders, including panic, social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, health anxiety and phobias can lead to repetitive thoughts, avoidance and feelings of shame. Understanding the underlying issues perpetuating these worries allows clients to move forward and live a more fulfilling life.

SELF-ESTEEM & IDENTITY ISSUES

Low self-esteem, or a pervasive underlying sense of not being good enough can lead to difficulties throughout life including anxiety, depression or frustration with where our lives have taken us. Using a compassion-focused approach clients learn to set boundaries, improve relationships and develop an empowered sense of self.
